VOCAL LIBERATION PROGRAM
This program is for singers who want to find their sound, sing freely and confidently, and build their repertoire. It will help you create a solid foundation, see some progress, and have a few tunes ready to go!
SCHEDULE:
WEEK 1 – Breath Management
Learning how to breathe properly and have the support you need to sing confidently. I will share with you several breathing techniques to help you with that, and I encourage you to keep this as your daily practice (or at least 2-3 times a week) throughout the course.
WEEK 2 – Freeing the Voice
In the second week, we will be focusing on releasing any tension from your voice. We will work on sound placement, awareness of the muscle group you need to produce sound and breathe, sound resonance, and so on. After this session, you will be more mindful of how you sing and I believe you will hear your BEAUTIFUL voice. I truly do believe everyone has a beautiful voice, once we relax and let it come out naturally.
WEEK 3 – Finding Your Sound
When we clear tension we can finally work with YOUR sound. However, I don’t only mean your voice. I want to know what music you listen to, what you like, and what resonates with you. I can pretty much hear it when you sing and can advise and guide you to the right kind of repertoire. I will give you some suggestions, you will share your inspirations and together we will start building your repertoire. And yes, we will have time for everyone to shine!
WEEK 4 – Developing Your Interpretation
This week I will share with you some tips on how you can personalize your songs, and make them yours. You will learn several methods on how to approach the song and work on your style. Bring a song you’d like to work on and get ready to sing!
WEEK 5 – Freedom of Expression
Coming from a jazz background I can help you free your expression, and start to play! Improvisation can be really fun, it can relax you and help you connect with your musicians as well as the audience. It’s what makes the live shows exciting! I’ll share with you more ways how you can approach this and make your interpretations even more special and unique.
I will provide you with warm-ups, and sheet music (if applicable) in your key and we’ll find play-alongs that fit your songs.
BONUS: We can also do techniques to help you get rid of stage fright once and for all! 😉
